Your text will turn pink and this layer will automatically NOT cut. You’ll see the layer marked as Guide in the Layers Panel on the left. You can change your notification preferences by clicking the three-line menu in the upper left of your Canvas and going to settings. Now you can copy design elements from one Design Space Canvas and paste them to another. Just select and copy the desired object (or group of objects), then paste them into a new or existing Design Space canvas. You can use your favorite keyboard shortcuts or use the Edit dropdown menu to use the Copy and Paste commands.
